Graduation Commencement Ceremony:

Regarding upcoming ceremonies, Independence University (IU) is taking a proactive approach in how we are monitoring, preparing, and analyzing all new developments surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus). We do have a tentative graduation commencement ceremony date of September 4, 2021 reserved in Salt Lake City, Utah. Keep in mind this is tentative currently only. Whether we can host this 2021 graduation commencement ceremony is based on pandemic outcomes. Just like our graduates, the staff and faculty of IU would like to host a graduation commencement ceremony in 2021. It is our greatest pleasure to see our graduates walk across the stage in front of their family, friends, and all that have supported them along the way. We have reserved this tentative date at the Capitol Theatre and will do everything we can to allow you the opportunity to celebrate at the graduation commencement ceremony.

As soon as we are unconditionally and safely able to schedule this September 4, 2021 ceremony, we will be inviting our 2020 and 2021 graduates to walk across that stage and celebrate. At that time, rest assured that every precaution will be considered as part of our Health & Safety Plan such as face coverings, social distancing, seating assignments, hygiene, sanitation, designated seating and standing areas, designated work areas for staff, as well as a window of time for high-risk attendees to come in without pressure from crowds and/or separate entrances and lines. The health and safety of our graduates, students, faculty, and staff are a priority.

No need to contact us! We will be contacting all of you, via email, as soon as we can responsibly schedule this, long awaited, graduation commencement ceremony. However, if we cannot host this graduation ceremony in 2021, due to the continued restrictions on mass gatherings and pandemic outcomes, we will be notifying you as to how we plan to honor our 2021 graduates.  In the meantime, you are welcome to purchase your regalia on this site if you wish to receive your regalia early.  All updates will be posted in SHARC at the beginning of each month: https://online-shc.com/arc/graduation/ .
